So, today wasn't the greatest of all days. It started off with an annoying sound that did not come from my alarm clock. It started off with an annoying sound, two annoying sounds, actually. The first one was Dawson barging into my room and singing loudly and out-of-tune. Since Dawson doesn't usually get up before I do, he makes the most of it when he does. The second annoying sound was what he was singing, and playing right into my ear.
A horrible, horrible genre of music called gangsta rap. Dawson threw his phone at me and bolted out the door with a Ziploc bag full of cereal. He eats breakfast on the bus. I, however, prefer to eat breakfast in the peaceful environment of my house than the stinky, madhouse, mobile-zoo-traveling-circus they call a school bus. But, considering I woke up late, I ended up missing the bus.
After walking to school, I was later than ever. I had to go to the office to get a late pass.
Of course, luck was not on my side today.
The mean office lady |
My insides crumbled as I stammered through asking for a late pass.
After five million intense games of 20 questions later, she finally handed over a late pass. And a lecture of being on time. And not wasting it. In my opinion, she wasted heaps of time interrogating me, but I didn't say anything, in case she took back my late pass.
When I entered class, everyone stared at me like I was an alien, or something. It was the ultimate walk of shame when I handed my late pass to my teacher.
Conveniently, I left my lunch at home, so I had the ugly joy of eating Splopp Galore. The lunchlady plonked it on my tray with such force, it splattered everywhere. And dripped. Because nobody is quite sure if Splopp Galore is a liquid or a solid.
I had lost my appetite, so I went and tried to rinse the Splopp out of my hair. I'm not a girly-girl, but I sure as heck didn't want the Splopp to multiply or something. And I definitely did not want inbred Splopp taking over my head. Because, ew. Since I only had sink-water to work with, Belle and I tried gooshing it onto my head. But the Splopp just LIQUEFIED and dried there. Belle suggested I change clothes because Splopp had invaded my clothes, too. I didn't have a spare set of clothes, so Belle let me borrow hers. At least I didn't have to dive into the world of lost and found.
When I got home, Mom left us a note saying she'd be working late again. Dawson and I were used to this, but sometimes I wish Mom could come home earlier. Dad comes home at six. Anyways, Dawson and I made a bacon and egg pie for dinner (after I took a shower). As soon as it was done, I gobbled up a slice. Hey, I missed lunch.
Stages of dinner...
After dinner I whipped up a batch of chocolate cupcakes. But when they started rising all perfectly, Dawson had to go fling open the oven door and go, "Oh, cupcakes! Yessss!" And they sunk. So I had to start all over again.
So I did end up making nicer cakes but Dawson and I made little cake-dioramas out of frosting and fondant on the flat ones.
Yeah
That's how my day went. Now I'm sitting in front the laptop making this blog post.
Good? Bad? I dunno. I guess I'll think about it later.
That's all for now, I guess.
